Welcome to Edmonds

Located 15 miles north of Seattle, Edmonds is a city in the Pacific North West, lying on the shores of Puget Sound, a large estuary in the Pacific Ocean. As a result of this location, Edmonds is often associated with natural beauty, spectacular views, luscious forests, and beachside attractions.

Yet, what many people outside of Edmonds may not know is that there is much more to this gorgeous area than its natural wonders. And in the below guide, we will walk you through some of these must-see attractions.

Local Lifestyle

Edmonds is a vibrant city that has preserved many of its historical characteristics. As a resident here, you will always be surrounded by incredible views, with the Cascade and Olympic Mountains on one side and Puget Sound on the other. Plus, you will enjoy access to numerous recreational activities, mountain hikes, beaches, and waterfront parks. Basically, Edmonds is a little piece of paradise that has it all.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

While Edmonds is a reasonably small city, it is actually considered by many to be one of the most diverse culinary destinations in the United States. With its variety of tastes and eateries, the restaurants here are unlike anything you will find anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest. That is why, when exploring the area, you should consider checking out Anthony's Home Port, which offers a premier seafood dining experience, or Salt & Iron, which is known to bring the comfort of American Northwest cuisine.

On the other hand, if you are looking for fantastic shopping spots, then Main Street is the location for you, as you can find upscale boutiques here as well as art shops, flower stores, gift shops, and charming other stores.

Finally, the Ferry Terminal to Bainbridge Island will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. This ride in the Pacific Northwest is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state, offering rides to about 4.6 million people every year.

Things to Do

While the views are breathtaking, the area offers so much more. In truth, there are plenty of things to do in this appealing little town, including the Edmonds Art Walk, which is a month-long celebration of the Arts in Edmonds, Concerts in City Park, a free-admission summer concert series that allows the community to experience outstanding performances all summer long, and Taste of Edmonds, a major fundraiser benefiting the community by offering live music and entertainment, kid activities, vendors, food trucks, a cornhole tournament, and beer/wine/cider tasting for those over the age of 21.

However, if you are looking to immerse yourself in the culture and sights of the area, whale watching on the Puget Sound Express and the Cascadia Art Museum, which features beautiful, northwest-style art, are two other amazing options.

Schools

The Edmonds School District is a solid school district serving over 20,851 students from preschool through 12th grade and offers a decent student-teacher ratio of 18 to 1.
